Matchup Analysis
The Dallas Mavericks have been a surprise team in the playoffs, led by the dominant play of Luka Doncic. The Celtics, however, are the heavy favorites, having won the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record.
The key matchup in this series will be between Doncic and Celtics star Jason Tatum. Doncic is averaging 28.8 points per game in the playoffs, while Tatum is averaging 27.0 points per game. Both players are capable of putting up big numbers, so this matchup could be explosive.
The Mavericks will need to find a way to slow down Tatum, who is one of the best scorers in the NBA. They will also need to hit their three-pointers, as they are one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league.
The Celtics, on the other hand, will need to make sure they don't get too reliant on Tatum. They will need to get contributions from their other players, such as Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart. They will also need to play tough defense, as the Mavericks are a very good offensive team.
